自 1987 年 Red Wing 收購了長期配合的皮革廠商 S.B. Foot Tanning Co. 之後，便完全主導了從原料到製作的所有工序，市面上其他品牌也無法取得他們所使用的專屬皮革。

在原廠眾多皮革中，最為人所知的便是這片被運用在 877 & 875 上面的「Oro Legacy 皮革」了，傳承了自 50 年代以來的經典 褐橘色調 以及 極佳的油脂表現，養成後的質感更是一絕！

除了足球金童、21世紀的男神 貝克漢，六零年代最火紅的影星 - Steve Mcqueen 也是 877 的愛好者呢！
