"Gurkha" 是源自尼泊爾的一個重要部落的名稱。在十九世紀初，在英軍以東印度公司的名義在尼泊爾與他們開戰之後。配合地勢、當地的穿用習慣，而將原先英軍的軍褲改良，這才變成了今日我們常見到的 Gurkha Pants 的雛形。
