在大家都在尋找強調修飾腿型、顯瘦的褲款同時，是不是都忘了其實這樣的剪裁設計在 70 年代，美國單寧大廠 LEVI'S 就曾經推出過紅極一時的 517 靴型褲了呢？

其實靴型或是俗稱的喇叭褲腳剪裁，在 19 世紀即被水手們著用，而其中說法是寬褲腳的剪裁讓褲子在濕透的狀況下更容易脫除。

在 60 年代中期至 70 年代間，低腰、合身剪裁，且膝蓋以下隨著腿部曲線逐漸放寬的靴型褲，不只是當紅樂團 Sonny & Cher，連同英國知名設計師們也開始著用並設計出相關系列作品，但當時嬉皮們還只是著用著直筒褲搭配帆布鞋。

爾後美國知名工薪階層樂團，例如 Slade 以及 Abba 樂團成員在公開表演場合開始著用後，這股風潮才正式被關注人權及社會運動的嬉皮們所注目，並成為當代嬉皮界的代表服飾之一。
